First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA, a leading healthcare staffing organization, is actively hiring an experienced Senior Billing Specialist to support one of our valued healthcare facility partners. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented billing professional with strong Accounts Receivable (AR), invoice processing, and reconciliation experience to step into a stable, growth-oriented role.
This position begins fully onsite for training and transitions into a hybrid schedule upon completion of orientation.
Schedule & Work Environment- Full-Time, Monday–Friday
- Onsite Training Period: 3 months (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Hybrid Work Schedule after Training Completion
- Professional healthcare office environment
- Process and analyze billing statements, invoices, and account records
- Perform cash receipt posting and reconciliation of premium payments
- Support Accounts Receivable (AR) collections and past-due account resolution
- Prepare regulatory and reporting documentation, including Form 5500s
- Sort, organize, and route invoices for mailroom and processing workflows
- Conduct billing audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and completeness
- Maintain detailed financial records and billing documentation
- Collaborate with finance and administrative teams to resolve discrepancies
- Support general healthcare billing operations and reporting needs
- Minimum 3+ years of billing experience (AR experience required)
- Strong background in Accounts Receivable (AR), invoicing, or billing operations
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, spreadsheets, reporting)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and standard office tools
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptability to changing priorities and workflows
- Healthcare billing or healthcare finance experience a plus
- Accounting coursework or degree preferred (not required)
- Experience with financial reconciliation or audit support
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting (e.g., Form 5500)
