About the Opportunity

The Senior Accountant plays a central role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of CLBC’s financial operations. This position manages core accounting tasks including payroll, accounts payable and reconciliations and ensures that financial records are complete, current, and audit‑ready. The work directly supports organizational stability, staff experience, and informed decision‑making.

This role works closely with the CFO and collaborates with internal teams who depend on timely, accurate financial information. This role is permanent, and can be filled as a 0.8  or 1.0 full-time equivalent (FTE).

For the Senior Accountant role, we are looking for someone who is accountable, communicates effectively, instills trust, and makes sound decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing

Process semi‑monthly payroll, ensuring all statutory remittances, benefits, and deductions are accurate and on time

Manage accounts payable workflows, ensuring invoices and payments are handled within terms

Complete monthly bank, general ledger, and sub‑ledger reconciliations

Maintain accurate records and prepare information for year‑end audit

Collaborate with internal teams and provide responsive, approachable support

Ensure reliable execution of routine financial tasks to support smooth operations

Payroll processed on time with accurate remittances

Vendor payments completed within terms

Financial records organized, accurate, and audit‑ready

Strong, positive working relationships with internal teams

Consistent reliability in day‑to‑day execution and workflow coverage

What You’ll Bring (or Need)

Post‑secondary education in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance (CPA an asset but not required)

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role

Strong bookkeeping knowledge and attention to detail

Experience with Payworks, Sage Intacct, or similar systems—or the ability to learn them

Comfortable working with sensitive financial information

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Reliable, confidential, approachable, and consistent in communication and follow‑through

Eligibility to work in Canada
