RN - Manager of Health Services (Full-Time Exempt) Gardens Assisted Living
The Gardens At Luther Park has 70 apartments for our Assisted Living and Memory Care Residents. We are searching for the right REGISTERED NURSE with the right skills, experience and personal qualities to take over this unique position. The ideal candidate has a love for the elderly, promotes teamwork, is a great communicator and mentor to staff and is grounded in excellent resident care.
Summary of Duties
The Manager of Health Services provides supervision and administration of
quality nursing care for general assisted living and memory care residents. The Manager of Health Services will be
knowledgeable of all state and federal laws and regulations applicable to
assisted living. The individual works with the Director of Assisted Living to
provide a physical, social and psychological environment conducive to
maintaining the highest level of independence and autonomy for all residents of
the program.

Essential Functions
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department to recruit, hire, supervise, coach, evaluate and as needed terminate clinical staff who provide health care and related services to residents.
- Collaborate with the Administrative Office Coordinator in creating a monthly schedule that maintains adequate staffing 24/7 and meets the needs of the residents.
- Conduct pre-admission and change of condition resident assessments. Collaborate with the Assistant Manager of Health Services to conduct 30 day, 90 day and annual resident assessments.
- Develop initial service plans for residents and update plans as needed or as required.
- Complete delegations for clinical staff including CNAs, CMAs, LPNs and RNs.
- Share on-call responsibility.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacies, hospice, home care agencies, wellness providers, etc. in coordinating residents' health care needs.
- Review incident reports to identify concerns with residents' safety, track findings and implement changes as needed to address root causes.
- Communicate with family members regarding the health condition and progress of the resident including in-person and telephone discussions when appropriate.
- Collaborate with the Director of Assisted Living to plan and conduct in-service education programs for clinical staff and maintain record of programs and attendance.
- Ensure the facility operates in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
- Provide clinical leadership and direction for the biennial Department of Inspections and Appeals survey.
- Develop, revise, distribute and enforce policies and procedures related to health services.
- Prepare and submit records and documentation as required by internal policies, state and federal rules, regulations and laws for assisted living facilities.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain credentials and increase expertise and knowledge for assisted living management.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Possess an active RN license in
compliance with Iowa Board of Nursing - Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred
Three years experience with assisted
living or long-term care programs preferred
Knowledge of MS Office products
including Word, Excel and Outlook
Proficient with electronic health
records system such as PointClickCare
Ability to respond to common inquiries
or complaints from residents, family members, staff, regulatory agencies
or members of the healthcare community
Possess initiative, good judgement and
leadership ability to work well with the community, residents, families
and staff
Possess understanding and compassion for
the elderly population
Ability to build effective working
relationships with people of all backgrounds
Excellent verbal and written
communication skills
Self-directed and ability to work
independently
