RN In-Service Educator

Surge Rehabilitation and Nursing located in Middle Island is looking for a seasoned RN Inservice Coordinator.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• A graduate of an accredited professional nursing program with a current license to practice in New York State.
• Minimum of one year of experience in geriatric/long term care facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• The Nurse Educator coordinates the planning, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of educational activities within the Nursing Department.
• Participates in formal and informal educational activities within the department on all shifts.
• Participates in orientation program of newly hired departmental employees.
• Works with all levels of nursing staff to improve the integrity and accuracy of documentation.
• Participates in the planning and implementing educational programs for the all shifts and weekend staff.
• Monitors staff development activities for conferences and seminars outside of the building. Maintains ongoing files.
• Participates in chart audits – monitor ongoing documentation (including electronic) related to regulatory agencies and facility needs.
