IMC is currently hiring a RN -Ambulatory Care, who under the general supervision of the Unit Director and charge nurse with the authority of the Chief Nursing Officer, the RN applies the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation) in caring for patients.  Effectively interact with patient, significant others, and other heath team members.  Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria for the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population. Responsible for the admission, preoperative assessment and preparation of patients admitted on the day of the scheduled surgical procedure and post-operative care and discharge of outpatients.

EDUCATION

  • Graduate of state approved RN School of Nursing

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

  • Current license as a RN in the State of Louisiana

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience preferred, but not required. 

PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates respect for patients and families.
  • Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care.
  • With the patient and family, systematically and continually assesses the patient’s health.
  • Applies the nursing process to each patient and implements nursing actions.
  • Identifies patient and family education needs and in collaboration with other disciplines initiates’ education needs according to the age of the patient.
  • Assesses, collaborates and coordinates in planning of patient’s discharge needs and readiness for discharge.
  • Participates in departmental and hospital improvement plan.
  • Functions as a positive role model for peers and promotes a professional image of Iberia Medical Center.
  • Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient and organizational data.
  • Consistently lives by Iberia Medical Center’s Standards of Performance.
  • Adheres to the Patient Safety Goals.

SCHEDULE

  • Fulltime
