Position Summary:
The Restaurant Cashier ensures prompt and accurate transactions while delivering exceptional customer service. As the face of the restaurant's front-of-house operations, the Cashier is responsible for greeting guests, processing orders, handling payments, and upholding corporate brand standards for service, efficiency, and cleanliness.
Position Responsibilities:
Guest Experience Customer Service

Greeted customers promptly and warmly with a professional demeanor.

Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, maintaining familiarity with menu offerings, promotions, and pricing.

Answered customer questions regarding the menu, ingredients, or special offers in line with corporate service standards.

Resolved customer concerns and escalated unresolved issues to the restaurant manager.
Transaction Management

Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process cash, credit cards, gift cards, and mobile payments.

Accurately calculate totals, provide change, and issue receipts to customers.

Process refunds, voids, and discounts as directed by corporate policies.

Maintain a secure cash drawer and ensure proper accounting of transactions during and after shifts.
Efficiency & Teamwork

Assist with expediting customer orders during peak times to support team performance and ensure timely service.

Work with the kitchen and dining room staff to ensure seamless communication between front and back-of-house teams.

Support shift duties as needed, including restocking supplies, running food orders, or managing the beverage station.
Cleanliness & Organization

Maintain a clean, organized cashier station, including POS terminals, counters, and surrounding areas.

Ensure cleanliness of customer-facing areas, such as drink stations, utensils counters, and condiment sections.

Follow company sanitation standards, including hand hygiene and food handling protocols.
Compliance & Standards

Follow all corporate operating policies and procedures, including cash handling, security protocols, and customer interaction.

Ensure compliance with food safety and local health codes during order processing (e.g., packaged goods or drinks).

Follow proper uniform standards and maintain a professional appearance in line with company guidelines.
Reporting

Inform the manager of cash discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or guest complaints promptly.

Report end-of-shift transaction totals accurately to management and participate in the reconciliation process when necessary.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous customer service, cashier, or food service experience preferred.

Basic math and cash handling skills (accurate calculations, cash balancing).

Familiarity with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems preferred; training provided for company systems.

Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.

Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
