Job Summary

Granlibakken Tahoe is seeking a reliable, organized, and customer-focused Rental Shop & Cashier Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our ski/snowboard rental shop and ticket sales area. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, outdoor winter environment with a small but passionate team. You’ll ensure efficient guest service, safe equipment rentals, and smooth cashier operations for our ski hill and popular sledding hill. This is a seasonal position starting around December 15th 2026 & ending around April 15th 2027.

Responsibilities

Rental Shop Operations:

• Supervise the ski/snowboard rental process including boot fitting, equipment sizing, safety checks, and returns.

• Train and oversee rental technicians to ensure safety, speed, and professionalism.

• Maintain and organize rental inventory; ensure equipment is clean, maintained, and ready for use.

• Monitor equipment condition and communicate repair or replacement needs.

• Uphold all safety protocols and liability procedures related to equipment use.

Cashier & Guest Services:

• Oversee ticketing and sales for ski lift access, sledding hill passes, and equipment rentals.

• Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems; handle cash and credit transactions accurately.

• Assist guests with questions regarding mountain conditions, rental options, pricing, and safety rules.

• Ensure signage, pricing, and information are clear and up-to-date.

Staff Supervision & Team Support:

• Schedule and manage daily shifts for rental and cashier staff.

• Provide training, support, and performance feedback.

• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment with a focus on customer service.

General Operations:

• Open and close rental and cashier stations as needed.

• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the shop and guest areas.

• Respond to guest concerns and resolve issues professionally.

• Assist with sled hill and ski hill operational needs during busy times.

Pay Range

$23.00 - $26.00 per hour 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior experience in ski/snowboard rental operations or retail cashiering.
• Supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment fitting and safety protocols.
• Comfortable working in cold, snowy conditions and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, family-friendly environment.
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification a plus (can be provided on-site).
