Position Summary

Northern Cochise Community Hospital is seeking a Quality & Risk Manager (QRM) to lead and oversee the organization’s quality and risk management program. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting patient safety, and advancing performance improvement initiatives across a rural Critical Access Hospital setting.

This Position is an onsite Full-Time position

The QRM plays a key role in driving quality outcomes, managing risk, supporting survey readiness, and fostering a culture of patient-centered, evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities

Quality & Performance Improvement

  • Direct and maintain the hospital’s Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program
  • Lead quality initiatives and ensure compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct chart reviews and track performance improvement efforts
  • Provide education and support to staff on best practices and quality standards

Risk Management

  • Analyze and report risk events, claims, and potential liabilities
  • Oversee incident reporting and corrective action processes
  • Collaborate with leadership on risk mitigation strategies
  • Provide staff training on risk prevention and regulatory standards   

Regulatory Compliance & Survey Readiness

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations
  • Coordinate readiness for licensure surveys and audits

·         Collaborate with leadership on plans of correction and regulatory updates

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree (MSN or Healthcare Administration)
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) within 1 year of hire
  •  Quality/ risk management experience in a healthcare setting
