Quality Control Representative in Critical Shipbuilding, Defense, and Industrial Projects | Norfolk, VA

The employee will regularly work around heavy equipment, welding operations, and industrial machinery. Strict adherence to safety policies is required.

💲 Pay: From $18 and up
📍 Location: Norfolk Plant
Preferred:
- Exposure to welding or fabrication environments.
- Knowledge of MIG, TIG, or Flux-Cored welding processes.
- Familiarity with measuring tools and inspection equipment.
- OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Prior shop or trade school experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fabrication/shop environment (noise, dust, temperature variations).
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including respirator when necessary.

Tuesday–Friday Day Shift | 4x10

🎯 Position Summary
TST Fab & Machine, LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Representative to support our fabrication and manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for assisting with inspection, documentation, and verification of materials, welds, and fabricated components to ensure compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and industry requirements.
🔧Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspections of fabricated components and weldments.
- Assist in verifying dimensional accuracy using measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, squares, gauges, etc.).
- Review drawings, blueprints, and work orders for accuracy and compliance.
- Document inspection results and maintain organized quality records.
- Support weld inspections under supervision (VT experience preferred but not required).
- Assist with receiving inspections of incoming materials.
- Identify and report non-conforming materials or workmanship.
- Support corrective action documentation and tracking.
- Maintain compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement efforts.
- Work collaboratively with welders, fabricators, supervisors, and leadership to maintain production quality standards.
✅ Required Skills & Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing or fabrication environments.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints (or willingness to learn).
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, documentation entry).
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
