Village Media — a proudly independent, digital-first network of local news sources in 27 cities across the province — is searching for a Publisher, TorontoToday.ca & Toronto SPACES.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial and results-driven Publisher & Sales Leader to spearhead the growth of TorontoToday.ca and Toronto SPACES in downtown Toronto. This role is laser-focused on generating revenue, recruiting hosts for Toronto SPACES, and establishing our platforms as essential resources for the community.

We are looking for a "doer" who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building strong relationships that drive business success.

Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Generation:

• Execute a comprehensive sales strategy, leveraging the Village Media sales model, to achieve and exceed revenue targets.

• Identify and cultivate key commercial partnerships and advertising opportunities across the range of Village Media’s commercial offerings.

• Directly sell advertising and sponsorship packages to local businesses.

Host Recruitment & Management:

• Proactively identify and recruit influential individuals and organizations to become hosts on Toronto SPACES.

• Develop and implement strategies to attract, engage, and retain high-quality hosts.

• Provide ongoing mentorship to hosts to maximize their engagement and impact.

Community Networking & Relationship Building:

• Actively participate in community events, chamber functions, and networking opportunities.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local businesses, community leaders, and residents.

• Represent Village Media as a passionate and effective brand ambassador.

Qualifications:

• Proven track record of success in direct sales and revenue generation.

• Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills.

• Strong ability to identify and recruit key influencers.

• Highly motivated, results-oriented, and self-directed.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• A passion for hyperlocal media and community engagement.

• Entrepreneurial spirit and a "doer" mentality.

• Existing strong connections within the downtown Toronto business community is a major asset.
