Job Title: Program Director V / Sustainable Assortment & EPR Strategy Lead
Location: Houston, TX (90% remote; 10% on-site)
Position Overview:
We seek a strategic leader to develop a sustainable product assortment strategy and implement an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework. This role drives sustainability initiatives, ensures regulatory compliance, and expands our sustainable product portfolio while embedding sustainability into the organization’s culture and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
EPR Strategy:
- Develop and implement an EPR strategy, ensuring compliance across key product categories.
- Provide expertise on EPR regulations and collaborate with internal teams to manage obligations and minimize risks.
Sustainable Assortment:
- Partner with procurement and suppliers to expand sustainability-certified products.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales to promote sustainable offerings and track environmental/business impact.
Supplier & External Engagement:
- Lead supplier summits on sustainability and build partnerships with consultants and industry organizations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Align sustainability initiatives with merchandising, operations, and customer solutions teams.
Leadership & Influence:
- Educate stakeholders on sustainability practices, lead workshops, and foster a culture of sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree; 7+ years in sustainability, merchandising, or supply chain roles (preferably in food distribution/retail); EPR and sustainability expertise; strong project management and communication skills.
- Preferred: Master’s degree; experience in food service or supply chain within a matrixed environment; familiarity with sustainability tracking tools.
