Processing Supervisor
The Processing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of approximately 5 - 8 Machine Operators and Warehouse personnel engaged in the receipt, storage, process, and package of nickel alloy metal products at Corrosion Materials (CMI).
Responsibilities and Duties
As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected by the Processing Supervisor. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure operational tasks, objectives, and goals are achieved.
- Supervise and evaluate the performance, development, and training of processing staff.
- Study production schedules and estimate work requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders for processing staff and assign duties accordingly.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of machines and equipment.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, and suggest changes in working conditions and equipment to increase efficiency of processing department.
- Maintain accountability of inventory processed through reports and cycle counts.
- Use labor time reports to improve efficiency of processing staff and decrease idle time.
- Monitor order processing to maximize material yield and minimize scrap.
- Develop ideas for continued upgrading of manufacturing procedures and equipment.
- Maintain accountability of tooling and supplies used in the processing department.
- Lead, coach, and train processing staff in quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives to meet and exceed CMI metrics.
- Fill in where needed within the processing department to ensure timely shipments of orders.
- Adhere to all CMI safety rules, regulations, quality standards, handbook policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of supervisory warehouse experience
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Experience in ACAD or similar drawing or nesting program
