PRN RN (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)

IMC is currently hiring a PRN RN (PACU) who under the general supervision of the Unit Director and with the authority of the Chief Nursing Officer, the RN applies the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation) in caring for patients. The RN will is responsible for effectively interacting with patients, significant others, and other heath team members. Additionally, the RN demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria for the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.

• PRN hours 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.     EDUCATION

•  Graduate of state approved RN School of nursing. 

2.     LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION

• Current license as a RN in the State of Louisiana.
• ACLS required
• PALS preferred            

3.     TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience preferred, but not required

4.     JOB KNOWLEDGE

• Basic knowledge of the nursing process and nursing principles.
• Basic knowledge of biology and chemistry.
• Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing procedures.
• Ability to supervise and direct other team members in an effective manner.
