Pay Grid: Professional ( $20.90 to $29.45 per hour )

Reporting to: Operation Manager Pq’usnalcw.

Summary of Duties:

Under the supervision of the Operation Manager, the Maintenance worker provides interior and exterior preventative upkeep services for the Pq’usnalcw building.

Key Deliverables and Expectations:

•Completes daily external building maintenance including physically examining the exterior of the building, picking up garbage, maintaining the sidewalks and parking lot including ice and snow removal, locking and unlocking gates, turning lights on and off, etc.

•Completes daily internal maintenance including recording water and air pressure and checking rodent traps.

•Review maintenance logs three times daily to determine if additional maintenance activities are required, such as lightbulb replacement, putting together new furniture, hanging equipment on walls, etc.

•Moves furniture and heavy equipment/objects as needed.

•Manages the tool shed including opening and locking, organizing and maintaining tools, and ensuring tools and machinery are repaired when unable to repair oneself.

•Monitors and provides building security including arming & disarming alarms, internal and external daily checking of windows and doors, securing fenced areas, and lighting fixtures.

•Monitoring and responding to after-hours security as requested; building alarm, fire alarm, power outage procedures.

•Completes monthly, seasonal, and annual maintenance activities as determined by LH&H policy and procedures, such as furnace filter change, snow removal, sweeping concrete, and installing/removing speed bumps.

•Provides seasonal landscaping including grass cutting and maintaining landscaping.

•Completes and submits all checklists, templates, and reports as required to the Operations Manager.

•Safely and effectively uses products and equipment; for example, transporting with a dolly, tents on wheels, snow blower, lawn mower, and so on

•Repairs damage to walls, which also includes painting walls.

•Completes minor repairs such as replacing doorknobs.

•Responds to after-hours maintenance needs, such as power outage procedures, staff's running events &/or programs.

•Reports the presence of animals, vermin, or insects to the Operations Manager, and the disposal process’.

•Monitors and reports equipment concerns/malfunctions to the Operations Manager and advises of equipment & supplies to be ordered.

•Reports maintenance and safety concerns to the Operations Manager.

•Weekly preventative maintenance duties; pouring water down the drains twice a week, running each water faucet twice a week, and viking system air/water pressure monitoring.

•Perform other related duties as requested.

Experience and Attributes:

•Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role

•Able to follow directions and understand shifting priorities.

•Class 5 Drivers License and clean Driver’s Abstract

•Able to effectively and safely work alone and be self-motivated to ensure work is completed.

•Physically fit and mobile. Can climb ladders, work on uneven ground, lift up to 50 lbs, and conduct physical work all day.

•Proven ability to follow safety protocols, knows how to minimize risks, and does not cut corners.

•Able to work in a variety of weather and ground conditions.

•Works effectively as a team member, providing support as needed.

•Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, vulnerable sector.

•Must be vaccinated against Covid 19 as per Provincial Health Order
