Reporting to:                     Operations Manager

Summary of Duties:

The Bus drive transports clients safely to and from their required destination.

Key Deliverables and Expectations:

• Operates the Nation’s van following the vehicle policy
• In consultation with the Building Operations Manager, provides non-emergency transportation for eligible community members
• Communicates frequently with the Receptionist to identify members requiring transportation and any schedule changes
• Coordinates with reception for client prescription pick-ups/drop offs
• Ensures passengers are safe and comfortable
• Assists clients with carrying groceries to/from bus
• Conducts a daily pre-trip safety inspection
• Oversees the maintenance and repairs of the bus including cleanliness, regular maintenance, tire change and arranging for repairs
• Cleans the bus daily and disinfects the bus interior, particularly during flu season & pandemic
• Perform other related duties as requested.

Experience and Attributes:

• Valid Class 4 or higher driver's licence and a clean driver's abstract.
• 1 to 2 years of driving experience preferred.
• First Aid certificate is an asset.
• Physically able to operate the Van lift and secure wheelchairs
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
• Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
• Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines prioritizes assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Motivated self-starter and with strong interpersonal skills.
• Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members.
• Must be able to provide a clear criminal record check, vulnerable sector.
