Marina Guest Service Associate/Dockhand 

Role Overview and Responsibilities: 

The Marina Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to boaters in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. The Marina Service Associate is responsible for assisting boaters in a prompt yet safe manner as they arrive and depart from their slip. You will assist with boat docking and pumpouts, and maintain a clean and organized dock area. 

• Maintains pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all customers, co-workers, and clients 

• Safely and accurately operate pumpouts 

• Handle cash and electronic transactions for purchases, accurately record sales, and maintain financial records 

• Acknowledges and greets customers with a professional and friendly demeanor 

• Welcomes guests to the location 

• Remains positioned in designated areas when not completing tasks and is attentive to the radio 

• Assists arriving boaters by directing them to their designated slip, and assisting in docking procedures 

• Ties lines to secure boat safely to dock 

• Hooks up vessels to electric pedestals and troubleshoots electrical issues/tripped breakers 

• Assists boaters with directions, reservations, troubleshooting, and other inquiries 

-Provides customers with information about marina, internet, and/or amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area 

• Delivers messages, items and/or guest amenities as requested 

• Explains rates for transient guests and accepts payment 

• Completes all tasks in a timely manner as instructed by the General Manager 

• Treats boaters and associates with courtesy, respect and dignity 

• Follows all appearance standards set by the Marina, all terms and conditions as set forth in the Handbook, and other policies and procedures 

• Maintains clean, neat work environment including all surrounding areas of dock, marina lobby, restrooms, trash receptacles, and outdoor area. Follows site specific safety and security procedures 

• Reports all accidents and incidents observed on shift to supervisor or General Manager immediately  

• Uses only equipment trained to use and operates all equipment in a safe manner 

• Reports all potential hazards and safety concerns to General Manager  

All other duties – perform all other duties as assigned, including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasks 


Education, Work Experience Requirements and/or Competencies: 

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 

• Knowledge of boating or boating terms is desirable 

• Enjoy providing excellent customer service 

• Comfortable being outdoors and on your feet
