Beachside Resort in Gulf Shores, Alabama, is seeking a skilled and committed full-time Maintenance Engineer to support the maintenance of the property.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for providing an attractive, clean, safe, and well-maintained property, using a systematic approach that maximizes guest satisfaction and adequately controls labor and materials.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and repair the interior and exterior of the building, guest rooms, meeting rooms, laundry, lighting, HVAC, ventilation, water treatment systems, and swimming pool.

  • Inspect all hotel operating systems and components to ensure they operate correctly, efficiently, and safely.

  • Communicate and enforce all hotel policies and procedures.

  • Inform management of hazardous situations, emergencies, or security threats.

  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and for the security of hotel inventory.

  • Assist all guests sincerely and courteously while going the extra mile and doing whatever it takes to ensure guest satisfaction.

  • Understand and respond to customer needs and ensure high guest satisfaction.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all mechanical/electrical equipment, HVAC units, refrigeration, plumbing systems, and guest rooms while maintaining accurate records of all work performed.

  • Ensure everyone in the department is trained and uses Quore daily.

  • Maintain the cleanliness of hotel grounds.

  • Assist with hotel security in minimizing the risk of theft, crime, and other hazards.

  • Follow and adhere to all standards and regulations set forth by the designated hotel and as directed by management.

  • Be a Brand Ambassador of A&R’s Culture, Mission, and Values.

  • Ensures all guests are treated efficiently and courteously and that all Company standards are applied.

  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to accept directions and priorities from members of management and reliably follow through on tasks.

  • Highly energetic and motivated individual.



  • Ability to work with machinery both indoors and outdoors.

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong customer/client focus essential.

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Ability to shift and manage multiple priorities while adapting easily to change.

  • Results-driven focus and ability to work through to completion promptly.

  • High flexibility regarding overtime during busy periods as required by the business.

  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.

  • Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods.

  • Professional and ethical.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Quick learner and hard worker.

  • Must be a team player and be able to work independently.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.

  • Able to lift to sixty (60) pounds.

  • Capable of ascending ladders up to a height of thirty (30) feet

  • Employees may be required to stand or walk 75% of the time.

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.

  • Working near moving mechanical parts.

  • Working in high or precarious places may be required.

  • Fumes or airborne particles may be present at worksites.

  • Employees may work in outdoor conditions.

  • Loud noises are typical for this job.

  • Regularly required to use oral communication skills; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; and interact with staff, other organizations, and the public.
