Long Product Operator

Summary of Position

The Long Product Operator is responsible for the loading, unloading, and movement of metal bar and pipe to the proper machines and departments as needed.

 Responsibilities and Duties

As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Long Product Operator position. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require. 

• Pull starting stock material for all machines according to work orders and process it according to the work order.
• Maintain proper paperwork for order processing.
• Process bar code tags for material.
• Debur all cut material coming from the saw.
• Ensure all material is properly marked with alloy, spec, heat, and size before releasing material to shipping.
• Manage inventory through cycle count and exception report inventory counts.
• Keep a clean and safe work environment.
• Abide with safety program and training.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years warehouse experience
• Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ of warehouse machine operating experience
• 1+ years of pipe operating experience
