Logistics Support Driver

About the Role

 

We are hiring a Logistics Support Driver to support our summer operations from now to mid- September. This role is based out of our Head Office in Courtenay and reports to the Purchasing Manager.

 

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys driving, working independently, and being a critical part of behind-the-scenes operations that keep our remote resorts running smoothly. 

 

Vehicles and fuel will be provided.

 

This is a physically demanding job. 

 

Anticipated Schedule: 22 hours per week.

·       In town pickups Monday to Thursday. 

·       Delivery run from Courtenay to Moutcha Bay Resort (Tahsis area)

o   Overnight stays are not required. 

Key Responsibilities

 

·       Safely operate company vehicles, including a 5 ton cube van for long-distance resort deliveries and a RAV4 for local pickups, in accordance with road, safety, and company policies

·       Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns promptly

·       Coordinate vehicle maintenance and transport vehicles to the auto shop for servicing, inspections, and repairs as required

·       Pick up purchases and transport goods to Head Office or warehouses as directted

·       Complete bi-weekly delivery runs by road to the Tahsis area, driving confidently on secondary and logging roads

·       Load, secure, and unload supplies to ensure safe transport of goods

·       Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality

·       Organize inventory storage and maintain accurate inventory records

·       Prepare shipments, including packaging, labeling, and required documentation

·       Coordinate with shipping carriers and communicate delivery status and delays

·       Assist with inventory counts and help resolve shipment or inventory issues

·       Provide light administrative support while at Head Office (scanning, inbox monitoring, meetings)

 

Requirements

 

·       Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract

·       Comfortable driving long distances on secondary and logging roads in a Cube-Van

·       Strong organization, time-management, and problem-solving skills

·       Basic administrative and numeracy skills

·       Safety-first mindset

·       Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new software

·       Previous supply chain, warehouse, or logistics experience (preferred)

·       Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work independently

·       Class 1 license an asset
