Licensed Insurance Agent - Sales & Marketing
Position Overview:
The Licensed Insurance Agent - Sales & Marketing is responsible for marketing and servicing a well-established commercial lines book of business while driving new business opportunities. This role combines strong marketing expertise, carrier relationship management, and client servicing with a focus on delivering optimal insurance solutions. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of the Louisiana insurance marketplace and extensive experience in commercial lines.
Key Responsibilities:
Book of Business Management & Marketing:
- Market and manage an established #1MM commission book of commercial business.
- Submit applications to carriers/markets and proactively follow up to secure the most competitive and appropriate programs for insureds.
- Maintain full knowledge of Louisiana insurance markets, including appetite, pricing trends, and underwriting requirements.
- Leverage existing relationships with carriers and brokers utilized by the agency to optimize placement outcomes.
Sales & Client Acquisition:
- Identify and prospect potential clients through inbound and outbound methods (calls, emails, networking events, etc.).
- Conduct needs assessments to recommend appropriate insurance coverage options (life, health, home, auto, etc.).
- Manage a portfolio of clients, provide policy updates and renewals, and manage claims as needed.
- Create a spreadsheet of all quotes and follow up on them
- Turn the completed file over to the Producer to set appointments
- Negotiate terms and pricing
Marketing Strategy Development:
- Partner with Producers to identify target markets and develop strategies to promote agency products and services.
- order and send loss runs to markets
- Execute and manage digital marketing campaigns (social media, email marketing, online advertising).
- Analyze marketing performance metrics and adjust strategies for improved results.
Customer Support & Relationship Management:
- Provide excellent customer service to existing clients by addressing their inquiries, offering policy upgrades, and providing consultation services.
- Foster strong relationships with clients to ensure long-term retention and satisfaction.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure adherence to all state (Louisiana) and federal insurance regulations.
- Maintain accurate client interactions, insurance policies, and marketing results records.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Property & Casualty Producer License
- Minimum 10 years of experience in marketing and servicing commercial lines
- Demonstrated expertise in Louisiana insurance marketplace
- Proven experience managing and marketing a book of business
- Strong knowledge of carrier markets and underwriting processes
- Effective negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in both insurance sales and marketing roles.
- Existing working relationships with Louisiana carriers and brokers
- Familiarity with CRM software, email marketing platforms, and social media management tools
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
