About the Opportunity
The Librarian, Information Services plays an important role in delivering front-line legal information services within CLBC’s provincewide service model. This role focuses on providing high-quality reference support, assisting clients with legal information requests, and supporting access to digital tools and resources.
Working closely with colleagues across locations, the Librarian supports clients in-person, by phone, and online. The role requires strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to manage a high volume of complex inquiries. The Librarian also contributes to service improvements by sharing insights from frontline work and supporting consistent service delivery across the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Provide front-line legal information and reference services to clients
• Conduct reference interviews and clarify client needs effectively
• Support clients in using legal information tools, databases, and online resources
• Respond to inquiries in-person, by phone, and through provincewide services (e.g., email)
• Manage a high volume of requests while maintaining quality and responsiveness
• Escalate or refer complex inquiries appropriately
• Contribute to digital content and support continuous improvement of tools and services
• Share insights from client interactions to support service and collection improvements
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent provincewide service delivery

What You’ll Bring (or Need)
• Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) or equivalent
• Strong customer service experience
• Ability to conduct effective reference interviews and explain tools clearly
• Technical proficiency with common digital tools and platforms
• Capacity to lift up to 30 lbs as required
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
• Sound judgment, reliability, and professionalism
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
• Approachable and collaborative approach to supporting colleagues and clients
