Lead Cashier

Job Summary

The cashier must process all cash transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures. The cashier will play a key role in achieving customer satisfaction and the goals of income growth.   Will provide a guide and a role model for regular cashiers.

• Ability to efficiently run all cashier stations
• Willingness to train Cashiers.
• Outstanding client service skills and optimistic demeanor.
• Oriented to the details and organized
• Able to identify and solve problems in a timely manner
• May be required to work on holidays and weekends
• Maintain a positive work environment for all cashiers.
• The cashier must set the example as a role model for the Ideal Cashier.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers when entering or leaving the store.
• Communicate clearly and openly with customers
• Contributes to the team's effort by achieving related results as needed.
• The lead cashier will supervise the Cashiers and will support them by speeding up price verifications, specials.
• Renders assistance with transactional duties (Voids) to other cashiers.
• Lead Cashier will verify that the Voids and refund sheet are being filled correctly.
• Train new hire cashiers in the position of general cashier using all tools to train and develop staff.
• Manage the check-out area and ensure each station remains clean and efficiently run.
• Provide direction and support to the Cashiers ensuring excellent customer service.
• Report any problem and all complaints or comments from customers.
• Inform the manager of any shortage of products.
• Report any suspicious activity to managers.

Preferred Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification such as a GED.
• Bilingual Spanish/English.
• 1-2 years related experience
• Physically fit and able to execute tasks involving extended periods in positions of standing, sitting, or carrying out other activities affiliated with the task at hand.
