IT Manager

 The George E. Booth Co. is a family-owned and operated industrial automation sales company looking to hire a full-time IT Manager at our Greenwood location.

The George E. Booth Co. is a major distributor of process instrumentation products, controls, and related services to customers in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.  Founded in 1963, George E. Booth Sr. recognized that there would be a natural evolution in the development of products for the industrial instrumentation process field. 

About the Role:

Are you a dynamic IT leader ready to drive innovation and operational excellence? We’re seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead and manage our Information Technology Department. You’ll oversee two high-impact teams: one dedicated to software development and strategic IT projects, and another focused on delivering top-tier technical support and helpdesk services. Your leadership will ensure our IT systems are secure, efficient, and perfectly aligned with our company’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

• Supervise and mentor both the software development/IT projects team and the helpdesk team.

• Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture.

• Ensure successful project execution and alignment with company objectives.

Strategic IT Projects

• Collaborate with company leadership to identify, plan, and execute technology initiatives that drive efficiency, security, and competitive advantage.

• Manage and prioritize IT projects, including software development, system upgrades, and process automation.

Helpdesk & Technical Support

• Oversee the helpdesk function, ensuring exceptional end-user support and rapid issue resolution.

• Maintain a reliable and secure IT environment for all users.

Infrastructure & Security

• Maintain IT infrastructure (networks, servers, cloud-based services) in line with security and compliance standards.

• Implement and uphold cybersecurity practices to protect company data and systems.

Vendor & Budget Management

• Manage vendor relationships and contracts for IT services and equipment.

• Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions.

Documentation & Training

• Ensure thorough documentation of systems, processes, and procedures.

• Provide training and support to staff on new technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Proven experience in IT management or leadership roles, including software development and helpdesk support.

• Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and security best practices.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for users and stakeholders.

Preferred

• Experience with cloud-based solutions and cybersecurity frameworks.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, etc.).
