Information Technology (IT) Team - Canada Wide 2026

Barrie, ON Seasonal

The Information Technology team provides daily technical support for all co-op members, summer participants, and summer programming.  They also prepare for Fall/Winter technical needs.  Working in small groups, and serving all departments, youth in these roles develop confidence and begin to master skills used in their analysis, problem solving, communication and overall participation in the workplace. 


We use G-Suites for Non Profits, Slack, Discord, Freshdesk, and a number of other smaller products. There are computers, printers, IP telephones and other devices on site, and at remote locations across Canada.  


Full-time summer employment contracts range from 8 -16 weeks, May through to September. Post-secondary students are welcomed and encouraged to apply for this position as part of their programs requirements for a co-op or work placement. Contracts are funded by the Government of Canada, and offered at the Ontario minimum wage. Please be aware that all positions may not be funded in all locations.


Some roles follow a hybrid work structure where employees both work from home or in person, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks and/or personal work preferences. Working from the office/studio/meeting location is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.  Training and Workshops may be online or in-person, as needed.


Positions:

Help Desk Agent 

Help Desk Agents evaluate and install software both network and cloud-based. They analyze and recommend strategies and solutions for effective use of technology. They monitor, maintain and coordinate the ease of use between all network and cloud systems. They assist and coordinate with all the Information Technology employees throughout the whole organization and business partners as approved.


Computer Network Technician

Computer Network Technicians establish, operate, maintain and coordinate the use of local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs), mainframe networks, hardware, software and related computer equipment. They are responsible for designing a network that optimizes its performance. They ensure that all electronic equipment is functional and up to date, ensuring that Co-op devices can maintain proper connections with networks set up.


Web Developer

Web Developers handle a range of responsibilities that may include web design and development, routine site and content maintenance, and various updates to ensure sites align with the goals and objectives of the organization. They are responsible for maintaining servers and ensuring websites are functional, user-friendly, visually pleasing, and up-to-date.


Data Management Specialist

Data Management Specialists are responsible for monitoring, setting up the data collection, ensuring data is being collected, and organizing the data collection for inclusion for reports.


IT Team Leaders

In conjunction with the IT Manager, you will provide leadership and mentorship for a small team of your peers to successfully complete IT tasks, as assigned.


IT Manager

IT Managers work alongside a variety of stakeholders, partners, affiliates, and members to facilitate software and program roll outs, and provide IT support via FreshDesk. They will take part in hiring and onboarding processes for their prospective staff, including training and orientation, and will be responsible for scheduling, guiding, and supporting the departments work and goals.

Typical Work Hours

  • Regular hours Tuesday - Sunday

  • Rotational coverage for Mondays, evenings, and weekends as scheduled
