POSITION SUMMARY

 Are you passionate about workplace safety and ready to make a real impact? As an HSE Coordinator, you’ll be a key player in creating a safe and proactive work environment. Reporting to the on-site HSE Superintendent, you’ll work closely with project teams to drive safety initiatives, conduct inspections, investigate incidents, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Liaise with Project Manager daily to foster, promote, and develop a positive and proactive safety culture

·         Monitor and enforce adherence to company HSE Management System by all employees as well as subcontractors

·         Provide suitable safety-related training as required

·         Maintain a high level of safety awareness and performance at all work locations

·         Investigate all incidents, hazard observations, and near misses

·         Liaise with HR and Project Management with the early Return-to-Work Program when required

·         Assist in the ongoing development and review of risk assessments (JHA) and safe working practices

·         Facilitate the provision of and maintenance of records in relation to all Project HSE training including toolbox talks, orientations, and weekly Safety Meetings

·         Complete all daily, weekly HSE documentation / record keeping requirements as directed within the HSE Management system, including maintaining computerized program

·         Other related duties as required

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Posses an established safety certification or designation such as: 

o    CHSC Certified Health & Safety Consultant 

o    CRST Canadian Registered Safety Technician 

o    CSC construction Safety Coordinator 

o    NCSO National Construction Safety Officer 

o    CRSP Canadian Registered Safety 

o    CSO (P), Construction Safety Officer


·        Minimum of 3 years experience in mineral exploration, mining, heavy civil construction in the Safety profession. 

·        Experience with design and implementation of health and safety programs and safe systems of work. 

·         Monitor and enforce adherence to company HSE Management System by all employees as well as subcontractors 

·         Ability to analyze incidents to understand and recommend corrective actions as well as improvements to health and safety practices and procedures. 

·         Strong attention to detail and proficiency with computers (MS applications), particularly database management. 

·         Valid Occupational First Aid (OFA) and WHMIS certificates. 

·         Time management, decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills. 

·         Able to take direction, follow instructions, adapt to changing priorities and multi-task. 

·         Strong work ethic with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 

·         Strong oral and written communication skills and able to use diagnostics.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The employee must adhere to agreed-upon work hours and be available for virtual meetings, calls, and collaboration during business hours. Flexibility may be required to accommodate different time zones or urgent tasks. Occasional travel or attendance at in-person meetings may be required based on job duties and business needs.


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
