Human Resources Generalist

This is more than an administrative HR position. The HR Generalist will be an important part of our Human Resources team, working alongside the HR Director and partnering with employees and leaders throughout FAFCU.

What You'll Be DoingYou'll have the opportunity to make an impact across a broad range of Human Resources functions, including:
Payroll & HR Systems

Process and audit payroll and employee changes.

Maintain accurate HR and payroll records and systems.

Research and resolve routine payroll and HR system issues.

Provide backup support for payroll-related responsibilities.
Recruiting & Onboarding
-
Manage recruitment activities from job posting through onboarding.

Partner with hiring managers throughout the selection process.

Coordinate interviews, pre-employment requirements, and new-hire documentation.

Help create a positive and consistent candidate and onboarding experience.
Benefits & Leave

Administer employee benefits, enrollment, qualifying life events, and changes.

Coordinate employee leave programs and related documentation.
-
Serve as a knowledgeable resource for employees and leaders.

Work with benefit providers and third-party partners to resolve issues.
Performance & Employee Relations
-
Support annual and ongoing performance management processes.
-
Provide guidance to employees and managers regarding HR policies and processes.

Serve as a first point of contact for routine employee questions and concerns.

Handle routine employee relations matters with professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.

Partner with the HR Director on complex or sensitive matters.
HR Operations & Compliance

Maintain accurate personnel records and HR documentation.

Assist with HR compliance, reporting, audits, and recordkeeping.

Prepare routine HR reports and information.

Help ensure HR policies and practices are applied consistently.
Process Improvement & HR Projects

Take ownership of assigned HR processes and projects from start to finish.

Identify opportunities to improve HR efficiency, consistency, compliance, and the employee experience.

Help develop and improve HR procedures, forms, resources, and communications.

Participate in employee engagement initiatives and organizational projects.
We're looking for someone who brings:
-
1–3 years of Human Resources or related experience.
-
A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, professional certifications, and relevant HR experience.

Knowledge of general HR principles, practices, and employment requirements.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
-
Excellent organization and attention to detail.
-
The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
-
The ability to work independently while collaborating with others.
-
Comfort managing multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn HR and payroll systems.
