Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanic Installer to join our team at our Winnipeg location.
What You Will Do:
- Uphold and embody FGI Customer Service Standards and Core Values with customers, colleagues and stakeholders
- Champion FGI's safety culture by performing all duties within established procedures and practices
- Plan and install a variety of new and added-on equipment
- Perform all wiring and hydraulic system installations related to installed equipment
- Test all repaired and installed equipment for proper performance
- Complete accurate maintenance reports and documentation
- Accurate completion of parts lists and w/o scans
- Other duties as assigned
What We Require:
- 2nd year heavy duty mechanic apprentice or equivalent experience required.
- MUST BE ABLE to meet the physical requirements: Lift up to 75lbs, able to work while kneeling/squatting and crouching, work at varying heights and enclosed areas
- Demonstrated understanding of highway truck and automotive wiring
- Excellent Customer Service skills – dedicated to exceeding expectations of internal and external customers.
- Strong written and verbal skills – ability to write and speak succinctly with customers and colleagues.
- Basic to proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (email, word, excel) and ability to learn in-house systems.
- Experience in wheelbase altercations and adjustments is an asset
- Welding experience is an asset
