Job Summary
Barefoot Resort & Golf is seeking an experienced Spray Technician to join our Maintenance team. This role is critical to maintaining the high-quality conditions of our golf courses and landscaped areas. The Spray Technician will apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides safely and effectively while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
•    Chemical Applications:
o    Safely mix, prepare, and apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to turf, trees, shrubs, and landscaped areas.
o    Calibrate and operate spray equipment accurately to ensure effective applications.
•    Maintenance and Monitoring:
o    Monitor turfgrass and landscape conditions for pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
o    Maintain spray records in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
o    Conduct routine inspections and upkeep of spray equipment.
•    Safety and Compliance:
o    Follow all safety protocols and proper handling procedures for chemicals.
o    Maintain current knowledge of chemical labels and safety data sheets (SDS).
•    Collaboration:
o    Work closely with the Superintendent and other team members to address course needs.
o    Assist with other maintenance tasks as needed, including mowing, irrigation repairs, and general grounds upkeep.
Qualifications
•    Previous experience in chemical applications, particularly on golf courses or in turfgrass management.
•    Valid pesticide applicator’s license (or ability to obtain one).
•    Strong knowledge of turfgrass, pest management, and related chemicals.
•    Ability to operate and maintain a variety of spray equipment.
•    Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
•    Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
•    Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
•    Comfortable with prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
