POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.  The FEM organizes events and campaigns to raise money and other kinds of donations for the YMCA to increase awareness of the Y's work, goals, and financial needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.    Fundraising Strategy:

a.    Plan and Execute: Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising event plan annually. This plan ensures the organization’s events and campaigns provide financial resources for growth and sustainability for programs, membership, and the overall organization.

b.    Corporate and Individual Relations: Strengthen relationships with community stakeholders, actively pursue and manage corporate and individual leads, and foster strong donor and sponsor stewardship to enhance events and campaigns (banner)

c.     Organizational Events: Plan and execute YMCA fundraising events.

2.    Engagement:

a.    Positive Image: Develop strong relationships within the community to position the organization as the local charity of choice for funding.

b.    Networking: Act as the primary point of contact for funding, donations, and fundraising event inquiries.

c.     Staff Collaboration:  Coordinate a unified approach by aligning staff efforts with the fundraising event strategies.

3.    Recognition/Reporting: 

a.    Reports:  Provide monthly event/campaign reports regarding fundraising areas of responsibility.

b.    Recognition:  Prompt Communication of gifts immediately upon receipt with personalization and significance of gift relayed. Collect video appreciation from the staff and/or participants sharing stories of their impact, etc. 

4.    Donor Data Management: 

a. Ensure all data regarding donations and events are entered into software system accurately.

5.    Major Events and Campaigns:

a. South Collier Gala; North Campus Sneaker Ball; Tour De Marco; Golf Tournament; Mutts and Margaritas, and other community fundraising events that benefit the Y.

b. Corporate Sponsorship (Banner) Project.

6.    Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

1.    Bachelor’s degree in development, nonprofit admin., business administration, communication. Ability to work well as a member of a team.

2.    Proven track record and significant experience in nonprofit fundraising and Knowledge of fundraising techniques, finances and budgeting for nonprofits

3.    Must be able to take initiative and maintain good communications with staff, donors, and organizational colleagues.

4.    Ability to promote YMCA and favorably represent the organizations to philanthropic and other partners.

5.    Proven track record with donor development

6.    Experience in managing development personnel.
