Emterra Tire Recycling Ltd. is a proud division of Emterra Group and is a 100% Canadian, privately controlled company operating out of Brampton, Ontario. We haul and process used passenger, truck, industrial and agricultural tires. We are committed to preventing these end-of-life products from being disposed of in our landfills or littered on our natural landscapes. As a result of processing used tires, we have become a leading supplier of crumb rubber which can be transformed into many fantastic, recycled products, such as road asphalt, playgrounds, and synthetic turf.
Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of tires and processed materials within the recycling facility. This role supports daily plant operations by loading and unloading trailers, transporting materials between processing areas and storage locations, and staging finished products for shipment. The position plays an important role in maintaining operational efficiency, workplace safety, and the continuous flow of materials through the tire recycling process.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate counterbalance forklift equipment in an industrial tire recycling facility.
- Load and unload trailers containing end-of-life tires and processed materials.
- Transport tires from receiving areas to processing lines and staging locations.
- Move processed materials such as crumb rubber, steel, and fibre to designated storage or shipping areas.
- Stack and organize materials in storage areas to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Supply production lines with materials as required to support continuous processing.
- Stage finished products for outbound shipment and assist with trailer loading when required.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and complete required safety checklists prior to operation.
- Report equipment defects, damage, or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
- Follow all company health, safety, and environmental procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the yard and facility.
- Assist with general yard duties and material handling tasks as required to support operations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Valid Ontario forklift license and formal training.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50lbs, as well as bend and twist.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be accountable and responsible in effectively resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating forklifts in an industrial setting.
- Punctual, reliable, team player.
Wage: $19.50 per hour
Onsite: Brampton
