Facilities Maintenance Specialist
Essential Functions:
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist maintains the buildings and grounds of Goodwill, and oversees the company’s buildings, and equipment to ensure that the workspace is safe and functional. To ensure daily custodial services to keep the building’s interior attractive and hygienic. The Facilities Maintenance Specialist conducts regular inspections of all facilities for Goodwill, to determine areas that need attention and then perform the tasks and oversee a budget and must negotiate with outside vendors for supplies, repairs, and other measures. Maintain and schedule the overall cleanliness and grounds of applicable retail stores within the company. Perform all Facility Maintenance issues.
Responsibilities:
- To maintain building’s functional operations in accordance with company safety standards.
- To perform a variety of minor plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- To set up and break down function rooms as required by meeting/event planner.
- To maintain all tools and equipment in a clean, safe condition, including proper safeguards.
- To safeguard all tools and materials against theft.
- To follow all safety policies and procedures.
- To utilize the maintenance work order system.
- To keep work area in a clean, organized, safe condition.
- To ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and assist with energy management.
- To maintain ongoing communication with supervisors and team.
- Must be willing to work after hours and weekends when necessary.
- To change HVAC filters.
- Change light bulbs.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must have knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations.
- Will be trained and certified on Boom lifts.
- Must have knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
- Must be a well-organized, detail and customer (internal and external) oriented self-starter Strong procurement and negotiation skills.
- Must have the ability to tolerate frequent periods of high stress, heavy workload, and multiple priorities.
- Will be trained and certified on forklift operation.
Must have carpentry skills including the ability to paint, patch and float sheetrock.
7. Must have minor electrical skills including bulb and ballast knowledge.
8. Must have minor plumbing skills.
9. Must be able to problem solve and make decisions as it relates to the building.
10. Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice, including days, nights, and weekends.
11. Must be able to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
12. Must be able to engage in prolonged standing, walking and in frequent bending, stooping, and stretching.
13. Must be able to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
14. Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
15. Must have computer skills.
16. Must possess a valid driver’s license
Education: GED, HS Diploma or Trade School Certificate Required. 3-5 Years General Maintenance, Building/Facility Management experience may substitute for education.
Working Conditions:
Extreme physical exertion, exposure to inclement weather; exposure to chemical fumes and machine noise.
