EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Executive Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the staff, programs, growth, and delivery of the organization's mission. The ED will report directly to the board.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Lead the development and implementation of the annual strategic plan and budgeting process, with an emphasis on volunteer engagement, staff leadership, and community mobilization.

·        Manage overall operations and associated programs, chapters, and internal committees.

·        Build relationships with local, state and Federal government as well as corporate partners and community organizations.

·        Build, motivate, coach and inspire a staff of leaders to support annual initiatives.

·        Actively engage staff and volunteers in development efforts; ensure strong marketing and communications efforts.

·        Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations and lead the growth of the organization throughout Michigan; use external relationships, including community leaders, board members to garner new opportunities, and third-party events.

·        Create and manage the budget, maintain financial records, oversee daily office functions, including risk management, policies, and procedures.

·        Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

·        Proven track record of successful fundraising efforts and charitable contributions, CFRE designation preferred.

·        Experience with addiction type diseases.

·        Effective communicator and skilled in public speaking.

·        Experience interpreting data analytics, monitoring results, taking corrective actions, and creating productivity enhancements.

·        Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.

·        Superior management and organizational skills with the ability to troubleshoot, resolve differences, and ability to gain widespread support in the course of managing projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

·        Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

·        Minimum 3-5 years leadership of a non-profit.

·        Ability to and willingness to travel to multiple locations and events throughout Michigan, as required. Estimated travel up to 25%.

·        Must possess a valid driver’s license, good driving record, access to reliable vehicle and proof of automobile insurance.

·        Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
