Excavator Operator
Wood Resources is a provider of marine towing, ship mooring, dredging, as well as construction and landscaping materials.
Position Summary
Excavator Operators are responsible for the safe operation of excavators. Must be able to work in Algiers, Harahan, Waggaman, Donaldsonville and Hahnville.
- Operate excavator to move, load, and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials during construction.
- Read and interpret blueprints or designs to understand the requirements of the job.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refuel equipment
- Complete daily equipment inspections
- Communicate with customers and employees
- Follow all company safety rules and regulations while performing duties
Job Requirements:
- Adhere to company attendance policy
- Reading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend/complete a variety of documents
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Must have reliable transportation to designated Wood Resources locations
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- 1-3 years of experience
Physical Requirements:
- Candidates must pass a pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting (8+ hours)
- Moderate -High noise levels
