Driver, Guided Tour
Start Date: Varies between March – May 2026
Work Hours: Seasonal with opportunity to be year-round, Full-time + Part-time roles available
Vary from 7.5-hour to 16-hour shifts starting as early as 6:30am and ending as late as 10:30pm
Location: Central Burnaby yard base, driving in Downtown Vancouver
Wages: $22.50-$23.50 per hour + daily overtime = earning potential is $25-26 per hour or more + gratuities + service incentives if targets are met + 4% vacation pay
Extended health benefits offered for full time employed drivers – company pays ½ if you opt in
YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDE
- Driving a 20-54 passenger coach bus safely in and out of town on tours to Vancouver, North Shore, Victoria, Squamish and Whistler
- Conducting clear, live, and engaging commentary in English while driving safely
- Picking up and dropping off guests from their hotel and ensuring guests are on passenger manifest
- Ensuring proper guest count at beginning, during, and end of tour
- Filling out attraction vouches with correct guest count
- Driving safely and efficiently to keep on schedule
- Providing exceptional service for our guests
- Performing daily pre- and post-trip inspections for bus safety, compliance, and cleanliness
- Reporting any defects on Vehicle Defect Card
- Communicating effectively and professionally over radio/phone
- Coordinating with Dispatch Tour Operations to ensure smooth operations, guest safety and satisfaction
- Adapting quickly and efficiently to changing traffic patterns, street closures or detours
- Being flexible with any last-minute changes and requests
- Lifting luggage up to 50 lbs
- Being warm, friendly, and welcoming to all guests and team members
- Handling guest queries and concerns professionally
- Promoting partner attractions and online reviews
WHAT WE WILL LIKE ABOUT YOU
- You have excellent communication skills and are comfortable in speaking while driving
- You possess a valid BC commercial drivers license: Class 1 OR Class 2 License with air brake endorsement, with a clean driver abstract
- You love driving and have at least 3 years of driving experience in Vancouver
- You are confident driving a bus in downtown Vancouver and are familiar with the streets
- You have a friendly and outgoing personality
- Prior tour guiding experience is an asset
- You possess a professional attitude and appearance
- You have the flexibility to accommodate a changing schedule, available to work any day of the week, and an average shift length of 8-16 hours per day
- You are available to work a full-time schedule over the peak summer touring months
- You have working knowledge of standard radio 10-codes
- You have previous experience working in a guest service role
- You work well under pressure
- You can lift luggage up to 50 lbs
- You are organized and a quick leaner
- You can work well both independently with minimum direction, and as part of a team
- You are fluent in English, written and oral. Ability to speak a second language is a bonus.
- You are legally entitled to work in Canada
- You possess a Class 4 Unrestricted license and are interested in getting a Class 2 License with Air Brakes? For the right candidate, we will pay for your training and licensing costs.
