Central Interior Native Health Society (CINHS) is a vibrant urban Indigenous Integrated Health Team Centre and educational facility situated on Lheidli T'enneh territory in Prince George, BC. The Clinic’s inter-disciplinary team provides trauma-informed and culturally safe, medical and psychosocial services to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

 

The Outreach Driver is responsible for transporting CINHS clients safely and efficiently to and from their appointments and fulfilling ad hoc transportation requests. The role requires ensuring the safety and

comfort of clients while providing courteous and professional service.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine checks on the vehicle before and after each trip to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Report any vehicle issues or maintenance needs promptly to the appropriate personnel.
  • Fuel the vehicle as necessary to ensure it is ready for all scheduled and ad hoc trips
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean and well-maintained.
  • Follows safety guidelines
  • Follows expenditure processes
  • Maintain the accurate records of mileage each day and any incident or delays.
  • Good knowledge of the Prince George services providers

Qualifications

  • BC Class  5 Driver’s License
  • 3-5 years driving experience in challenging winter conditions, specifically in northern Canada
  • Recent Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector)
  • Recent drivers abstract
  • Understanding of Indigenous background
  • Understanding of colonialism and its impact on Indigenous peoples
  • A positive attitude and sense of humour
  • Good social skills, patience, and empathy
  • Ability to deescalate a situation
  • Good organizational skills
