Dock Hand
Job Summary: We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dock Hand to join our team. As a Dock Hand, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient operation of our dock facilities. Your primary duties will include loading and unloading passengers, ensuring the proper organization of equipment, and collaborating with other team members to maintain a smooth workflow.
Responsibilities:
Loading and Unloading:
Safely load and unload passengers from vehicles, boats, or other transport vehicles.
Use appropriate equipment and follow established procedures to handle equipment efficiently.
Material Organization:
Arrange and organize equipment on the dock to optimize space and facilitate easy access.
Keep track of inventory levels and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
Equipment Operation:
Operate boats, atvs and other equipment as needed.
Conduct routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure work environment.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper lifting techniques.
Communication:
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure a coordinated workflow.
Report any issues, damages, or delays to the supervisor promptly.
Quality Control:
Inspect incoming and outgoing equipment for damages and ensure they meet quality standards.
Participate in periodic inventory checks and assist with record-keeping.
Requirements:
Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
Attention to Detail:
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate handling and organization of materials.
Teamwork:
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
Willingness to assist colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
Dependability:
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
Experience:
Prior experience as a dock hand or in a similar role is a plus.
Familiarity with basic dock systems and logistics operations.
Working Conditions:
This position may involve exposure to loud noises, moving machinery, and various weather conditions.
Flexible schedule may be required to accommodate operational needs.
