GENERAL SUMMARY
The Director of Employee Benefits is responsible for overseeing all operational strategic, and personnel functions for a team in the Employee Benefits department.
This role is key to ensuring the department delivers high-value solutions to clients while operating efficiently, compliantly, and with strong internal collaboration with other departments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Department Oversight
- Develop and implement the strategic vision for the Group Health Employee Benefits Department in alignment with organizational goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison with insurance carriers, TPAs, and vendor partners.
- Proactively monitor carrier changes and industry trends to mitigate client impact and recommend alternatives.
- Maintain strong partnerships to ensure favorable outcomes for both the agency and its clients.
Marketing & Plan Design Strategy
- Accomplishes department objectives by managing employees; planning and evaluating department activities.
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Develops, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, standards, procedures, workflows, and productivity standards.
- Develop, manage, mentor, and maintain relationships with employees.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, AMS, and/or related software.
- Ability to manage account related projects.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Carrier interactions are professional and productive.
- Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrates attention to detail.
EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 20 years of industry experience preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree preferred; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Must have a valid Oklahoma Property & Casualty License
- Experience with AMS360. Image Right, and Indio are preferred
- Industry designations, such as CIC is required
- Valid Driver's License
