Direct care worker / Norristown

All American Home Care is looking for aid in the Norristown area that can provides essential support and personal care to individuals who are elderly, ill, or have disabilities. They typically work in private homes, group homes, or assisted living facilities, helping clients with daily activities and ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

The Direct Care Worker assists clients with personal care and daily living tasks in accordance with individualized care plans. This role requires compassion, patience, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for those receiving care.

• Assist with personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting)

• Help with mobility and transfers (e.g., from bed to wheelchair)

• Prepare and serve meals based on dietary needs

• Administer medication under supervision (if permitted)

• Perform light housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, cleaning)

• Monitor and report changes in client’s physical or mental condition

• Provide companionship and emotional support

• Accompany clients to appointments or errands, if required

• Follow care plans and document daily activities

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) but not necessary

• Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Aide (PCA) may be required (varies by state or employer)

• Previous experience in caregiving is a plus

• Ability to lift and assist with physical tasks

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Dependable, trustworthy, and compassionate

• In-home or residential care settings
