Do you want to help others but not sure how? Dietary services are a major piece of the center’s work, and this thriving unit seeks a Cook to join its ranks. This entry level position works directly with the Director of Dietary to ensure quality nutritional/food services are provided daily. Loyalhanna Care Center is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility located in Latrobe, PA. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing high quality, nutritious food, as directed by the daily production sheet
  • Carving and portioning meat for service • Serving hot foods on tray lines
  • Checking special diet trays for accuracy
  • Cleaning the kitchen, equipment and food service spaces, as instructed
  • Ensuring minimal food waste, in both preparation, service and consumption
  • Ensuring safe operation of kitchen and food service equipment
  • Additional food service responsibilities, as assigned

Qualifications:

This is an entry-level position with significant growth potential. Candidates must be high school graduates or possess a GED equivalent and have some prior experience in cooking/food service. Specific healthcare/geriatric care service is preferred, but not required. Candidate must be able to provide a driver's license or personal identification card at the time of interview and must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
