Summary of Position:  Design Product Coordinator position is part of the Rebel’s Design Department and takes over design/product development process after the first proto is created. Product Coordinator is responsible for making necessary tweaks to the prototype until it is ready for bulk production. 

It is an ideal position for those who are interested in overall garment design and development process from both creative, technical, timeline and manufacturing perspective.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Design Product Coordinator is responsible for making both creative and technical design tweaks to the prototype and fine tuning the design according to customer’s feedback and likings.

·         Design Product Coordinator is responsible for evaluating prototypes from fit/garment construction perspective and finding solutions to improve fit and construction imperfections visible on the prototype.

·         Evaluating prototypes for quality to ensure execution meets Rebel’s standards - evaluate fabrics performance and consistency, print/dye sub quality, crystals, embellishments etc.

·         Performing prototype fittings on the fit models.

·         Measuring prototypes to ensure they were made within tolerance of correct block patterns.

·         Taking prototype pictures during fitting sessions.

·         Updating artworks, tech packs, print files, crystal and applique guides in Illustrator with required changes.

·         Leading communication between multiple teams involved in development process- factory, sales reps, sales operations.

·         Communicating with sales reps/customers and finding design/technical solutions to their concerns and preferences and translating them into technical directions for the factory.

·         Handling communication with oversees factory, explaining solutions and specific technical changes they need to make to the prototype.

·         Approving prototypes for bulk production.

·         Maintaining organization of the development process documentation - filing tech packs, pictures, communication and approval records.

·         Updating status of the order/ project in Salesforce/ lifecycle management system.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

·         2 or 4-Year degree in Fashion Design or equivalent hands-on experience with garment construction / sewing / tailoring / seamstress experience. 

·         Strong proficiency in Illustrator, Excel, and other Microsoft Office apps

·         Comprehensive understanding of garment construction and fabrics/materials.

·         Candidate must be extremely detail-oriented, reliable and organized with strong analytical skills.

·         Candidate must have great communication skills. Ability to understand and communicate directions in clear, quick and efficient way is extremely important.

·         Strong sense of urgency - you will be often working under tight timelines.

·         Ability to be flexible and adopt to change. Fast learner.

·         Ability to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities.

·         Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team. Positive, willing and team player attitude. 

·         Experience working with Sales Force or any type of PLM system is not required, but a plus.


Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit at the desk working in front of computer. During performing proto fittings, employee is required to stand, use hands to handle or feel. Occasionally employee might be required to go up and down the ladder in the prototype room.
