Copywriter

Echelon Fitness is searching for an experienced, talented Copywriter to join our Marketing Department. This role will be responsible for crafting compelling copy to support the marketing, retail, commercial, and creative departments across multiple touch points, including—but not limited to—product and landing pages, packaging, technical manuals and sales guides, partnership and event content, trade show advertising and collateral, email campaigns, paid search/social ads, press announcements, product naming, and more. 

The ideal candidate will be skilled in crafting short- and long-form copy tailored to specific audiences. This position requires excellent organizational skills, an ability to work under and meet tight deadlines, receptiveness to feedback, a team-player attitude and collaborative nature, high attention to detail, an outstanding work ethic, and the ability to interact with key stakeholders professionally. 

Responsibilities

  • Strategically write short-form copy for EchelonFit.com, marketing and sales collateral, paid search/social ads, and other digital marketing needs with a specific audience and goal in mind
  • Develop long-form copy for blog posts and editorial features
  • Create acquisition-focused copy for online ads, product pages, landing pages, email, commercial needs, and retail partner websites
  • Create retention-focused copy for landing pages, blogs, and email
  • Conduct basic keyword research
  • Implement SEO best practices to support website performance goals
  • Submit well-structured drafts to Content Managers within tight deadlines
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. engineering) to learn about product features and functionalities
  • Review and provide feedback to ensure product instruction manuals, sell sheets, and comparison guides include detailed, clear instructions and accurate information
  • Provide technical copy for new products (e.g. sell sheets, manuals, etc.)
  • Coordinate with the creative team to ensure all text, images, and graphics align with our brand guidelines
  • Communicate complicated technical topics in clear, concise, and compelling ways to both a non-technical audience & highly technical enthusiast base

Requirements

  • 5+ years professional writing experience, preferably as a Copywriter, Content Writer, or similar role
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates professional writing samples, including both short- and long-form copy for a variety of marketing or creative needs for different audiences
  •  An ability to describe product features in a creative and informative way
  •  A willingness to disassemble/reassemble and measure products to support copy development for instruction manuals, spec sheets, etc.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English, preferably in AP Style
  • Strong ability to write to specification while maintaining our brand voice
  • Basic knowledge of SEO and keyword research tools (i.e. SEMRush and Google Keyword Planner)
  • Experience with paid advertising copy, including social media and Google
  • Outstanding time-management skills
  •  A team player with a love for collaboration
  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or relevant field—appropriate work experience may serve as a substitute
