Who you are: A Controller performs accounting duties for Clancy’s Hospitality. As a controller, you oversee all accounting and reporting activities within the business. Your responsibilities include handling financial reporting tasks and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, working on tasks such as tax preparation, payroll, invoicing, accounts payable, and bookkeeping. Controllers also help with budget planning and financial strategizing with restaurant executives or ownership. You can undertake cost comparison activities, perform financial forecasting, and conduct other assessments to improve the financial performance of the restaurant.


What you'll do:


Supervise al accounting and accounting related activities as wel as the personnel working in the accounting department. •

Prepare monthly/period financial statements for all corporate entities withing the organization.

Prepare all Property tax returns.

Prepare all city, state and federal income taxes and file other governmental reports as required, including liquor licenses,

Assist in the preparation of monthly budgets and annual projections. Receive assistance from others in the organization but the controller is responsible for completing in final form.

Secure necessary financing of funds needed for future expansions.

Monitor and report the flow of cash received and disbursed.

Prepare various internal reports and meet with other corporate executives on an as- needed basis.

Coordinate with the corporate attorney for all legal related items. Responsible for including in the minutes all required items.

For good internal control, Perry Fogelsong, President signs all checks.

Borrowed money paperwork must be signed by Perry Fogelsong, President. 

In the area of corporate insurance, the various bids from the agents dictate which

direction to take.

The accounting department presently consists of one person handling accounts payable and two handling the various store data. As the number of stores increases, another part-time clerk may be required.


What we need from you:


3+ years of work experience in accounting, preferably in retail, liquor/spirits, food/beverage, luxury, or CPG. Experience in hospitality a plus, but not required.

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, CPA Preferred 

Equally left brain/right brain - Ability to interpret analytics, communicate and formulate strategy and experience in owning a P&L or being accountable for business results. A strong attention to detail in both written and visual content. Highly creative with enthusiasm to conceptualize and implement programs that are disruptive while maintain brand positioning.

Strong cross-functional leadership skills and desire to work with people who bring a different set of experiences to the table.

Experience operating independently to build comprehensive accounting platforms within Clancy’s Hospitality

Adaptable and willing to take on additional responsibilities as necessary; experience in developing and implementing new approaches and processes.
