Reporting to the Manager - Global Reward Operations, with a doted-line to the Canada People team, this role provides specialist advice and delivers operational reward activities across the Gold Fields’ Canadian operations, while supporting global initiatives as required. Also, he is an experienced reward professional who supports the Reward and Global Mobility team. He will work a 5-day work week followed by 2 days off, working remotely, with visits to our Montreal offices and the Windfall site.


Duties and responsibilities                                      

Provide specialist advice on reward matters to HR Business Partners, line managers and employees;

Support the implementation and administration of the annual reward review cycle, including data preparation, analysis and reporting;

Conduct and support job evaluations and maintain the job level framework to ensure internal equity and market alignment;

Analyse internal and external market data to prepare reports and recommendations on pay trends, risks, and opportunities.Assist in reviewing and maintaining remuneration policies, procedures and documentation;

Assist in reviewing and maintaining remuneration policies, procedures and documentation;

Liaise with external vendors and support benefit programs administration as required;

Provide input into reward-related projects and support the implementation of new reward initiatives;

Contribute to communication and education materials to support understanding of reward practices;

Consistently demonstrate and reflect behaviours, actions and attitudes in line with the Gold Field’s Vision, Values and Code of Ethics.  Actively promote Gold Field’s policies, procedures and systems relating to your area of responsibility;

Perform any other tasks related to the Senior specialist – reward operations Canada position that are relevant to the success of the project.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, commerce, finance, or a related field;

A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in compensation, remuneration, or human resources consulting;

Experience supporting compensation processes within a medium to large organization;

Experience in the mining or natural resources sector (an asset);

Experience in job evaluation and the use of classification frameworks;

Valid Class 5 driver's license.


Technical skills

Have extensive and long-standing experience in the field of fixed and variable compensation systems;

Be familiar with the awarding of compensation under common law, Quebec Labour code and minimum standard act based compensation structures;

Experience in analytical and financial modeling with excellent attention to detail;

Proven experience in implementing effective tactical compensation plans for multinational organizations in the mining sector;

Strong analytical skills and experience working with human resources management systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors);

Possess in-depth technical knowledge of compensation, benefits, recognition, and performance mechanisms and philosophy;

Have a good understanding of the mining industry, including its specific challenges, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements in different jurisdictions;

Be familiar with industry best practices and new trends in compensation and incentive structures;

Have the ability to identify and report risks of non-compliance with local laws and regulations in the various jurisdictions where the company operates.


Basic skills

Have strong communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior management and human resources professionals;

Have the ability to collaborate closely with internal teams to understand the organization's objectives, culture, and operational priorities;

Have calculation and technology skills to perform cost calculations and modeling, and graphically represent compensation data; 

Have research skills to determine appropriate compensation and benefits models for specific professional groups and individuals.
