Position Summary:

The Collections Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of the companies in the Public Safety Brands organization. This position will be responsible for providing day-to-day collection activities and oversight of the company's Accounts Receivable balances, identify overdue accounts, and lead collection and recovery efforts through research, effective communication and positive resolution. The position requires strong communication skills, an investigative personality and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


The Collections Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of the companies in the Public Safety Brands organization. This position will be responsible for providing day-to-day collection activities and oversight of the company's Accounts Receivable balances, identify overdue accounts, and lead collection and recovery efforts through research, effective communication and positive resolution. The position requires strong communication skills, an investigative personality and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments.
  • Contact clients to arrange payment.
  • Take actions to encourage timely debt payments.
  • Keep accurate records and report on collection activity and accounts receivable status.
  • Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts.
  • Investigate historical data for each debt or bill.
  • Assist in resolving billing and customer credit issues.
  • Assist in evaluating KPI performance around collection efforts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • 2+ years demonstrated ability in a customer service role, prior experience in Collections or a similar role preferred.
  • Previous experience with Maxio (SaaS Optics) and NetSuite is preferred.
  • Have a good understanding of billing procedures.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and databases.
  • Familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other laws governing debt collection practice preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required for frequent interaction with clients.
  • Strong problem-solving and research skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Excellent work ethic and dependability.
  • Aptitude to learn new technology and systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Customer service-centric.
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this position successfully. Regular movement within the office is required to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other resources. This role involves the continuous operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, and tools, including a printer, and computer. Regularly, the employee changes their body position to assist in moving objects or gaining access to items. The capacity to convey information and concepts effectively for mutual understanding must be possessed by the employee. They must also possess the capability to share precise details during such interactions. Specific vision capabilities, particularly the ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer), are essential for performing tasks accurately. This role involves the occasional transportation of boxes weighing up to 10 pounds throughout the office to fulfill diverse demands.
