Your new role

The Procurement Lead is responsible for leading the procurement function of the project, ensuring efficient and compliant processes across sourcing, contracting, and transactional operations. This position manages a multi-disciplinary team and ensures that all procurement activities, including SAP operations, contract management, vendor onboarding, and accounts payable coordination, are executed with high standards and aligned with project and corporate objectives. 

Your key responsibilities:

1. Procurement Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead, prioritize, and coordinate the procurement team (buyers, account payables) to ensure timely delivery of all procurement and contract activities aligned with project needs.
  • Develop team capability through coaching, training, and performance management, strengthening expertise in sourcing, contract management, SAP, and accounts payable processes.
  • Ensure full compliance with procurement policies and act as the Owner’s Team interface with key stakeholders (Construction, Project Controls, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain) to drive alignment and resolve issues.


2. Procurement & Buyer Activities

  • Oversee end-to-end procurement execution (RFQs, PRs/POs, RFAs, contracts, and change documentation), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper system management (SAP, Edman).
  • Manage and support sourcing and supplier activities, including buyer guidance, vendor onboarding, performance tracking, and alignment with local engagement objectives.
  • Monitor approvals, transactions, and reporting (PPSR, monthly), ensuring traceability, timely issue resolution, and continuous improvement of procurement processes, compliance, and potential process improvements.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, or related field.
  • 8–12 years of experience in contract Supply chain or procurement roles.
  • Minimum 5 years in mining, heavy industrial, EPC/EPCM, Oil & Gas, petrochemical or major capital projects.
  • Certification (PMP, SCMP, NCMA, AGCA) considered an asset.
  • Solid understanding of EPCM procurement, commercial terms, and construction/engineering requirements
  • Strong awareness of contractual, legal, and financial risk elements (e.g., LDs, securities, insurance, warranties)
  • Ability to bridge and communicate requirements across key project functions (Engineering, Construction, Finance, Project Controls)
  • Experience with SAP, Aconex, or similar project systems.
  • Proactive and collaborative leadership style.
  • Bilingualism is required
