Certified Surgical Tech - Full-time
Iberia Medical Center is looking for a surgical tech to join our team.

This position requires the following education, skills and experience:
· Graduate of accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
· Eligible, but not mandatory, to sit for the Surgical Technologist Certification Exam or grandfathered for LPN’s and Operating Room Techs who received on the job training.
· Current certification in the State of Louisiana.
· Basic knowledge of suture materials and techniques.
· Basic knowledge of biology and chemistry.
· Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
· Thorough knowledge of surgical procedures, maintenance and care of equipment.
· Working knowledge of electrical, laparoscopic, and powered surgical equipment.

· Assists with the nursing care of patients receiving surgical care and surgical intervention.
· Scrubbing and other related procedures, including but not limited to: instrument setup, delivery during procedures, assisting the surgeons, instrument cleaning, processing and maintenance.
· Effectively interact with patient, significant others, and other heath team members.
· Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria for the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population..
