West Janisch Health Care Center is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our nursing team.

We are currently hiring for Full-Time and PRN positions across multiple shifts, offering flexibility while maintaining consistent, high-quality medication administration and resident support.

As a CMA, you play a critical role in ensuring medications are administered safely and accurately while promoting comfort, dignity, and quality of life for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

Medication Administration & Documentation
  • Administer and document oral, ophthalmic, otic, topical, and suppository medications per provider orders and facility policy

  • Maintain secure control of medication and treatment carts

  • Complete, accurate, and timely EMR documentation

Treatment & Clinical Support
  • Perform approved basic skin treatments as ordered

  • Monitor and report changes in resident condition or medication side effects

  • Communicate concerns promptly to licensed nurses

Resident Care & Support
  • Assist with ADLs, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transfers, and positioning

  • Answer call lights and conduct purposeful rounding

  • Promote resident safety, dignity, and independence

Safety & Team Collaboration
  • Follow infection prevention and safety protocols

  • Protect resident privacy and rights

  • Work closely with licensed nurses and interdisciplinary team members

Qualifications
  • Current Texas Medication Aide (CMA) permit in good standing (required)

  • Active Texas CNA certification (required)

  • Skilled nursing or long-term care experience preferred

  • Basic computer/EMR proficiency

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to meet local health requirements and pass required screenings
