Job Summary
Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Driver. The Driver will be responsible for driving program participant(s) to their destinations and transferring cargo when needed. The Driver will have to be very timely with planning each route based on road and traffic conditions. Driver will follow traffic laws. Driver responsibilities include arranging regular cleaning and maintenance services for the vehicle. Additionally, the driver should be able to work on weekends and at flexible hours.
Responsibilities and Duties
It is the duty and responsibility of the Driver to:
- Transport program participants to and from court, medical, and other appointments
- Observe and document client behavior.
- Monitor clients’ physical well-being.
- Complete required documentation, including required reports, contact log.
- Complete all Incident Reports prior to the end of scheduled shift as required by Incident Policy and Procedure.
- Attend staff and other meetings.
- Attend regularly scheduled in-service training.
- Participate in quarterly training with staff.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications include the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid LA Driver’s License
- 2 years related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications include the following:
- Experience driving a large van.
- 2 years related work experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
