Under the direction of the Banquet Executive Chef, the Hourly Banquet Sous Chef supports back-of-house banquet operations and assists in leading kitchen shifts. This role helps ensure smooth kitchen flow, proper food preparation, and consistent presentation for banquet functions.
General Responsibilities:Provide professional, friendly, and responsive service to guests and team members
Support the Banquet Executive Chef with menu execution and occasional input on menu items
Assist with food preparation, setup, and execution for banquet events
Help maintain organization and efficiency in the kitchen during service
Support training and onboarding of culinary team members as needed
Ensure consistency and adherence to established recipes, portions, and presentation standards
Assist in monitoring food quality and alert leadership of any concerns
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines in accordance with hotel and health standards
Support the team in executing banquet functions to meet guest expectations
Assist with supervision of culinary team members during shifts as directed
Previous culinary experience in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment preferred
Banquet or high-volume kitchen experience is a plus but not required
Basic understanding of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow direction
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and consistency
Willingness to learn and grow within a culinary leadership role
