The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, one of Montana's AAA Four Diamond resorts, is seeking a Banquet Cook to work with our food and beverage team. Hourly DOE.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION PURPOSE:
As a banquet cook you will be responsible for preparing food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. Cooking food items by grilling, sauteing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Taking directions from supervisor and retaining information received.
• Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients, cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, and snacks.
• Plate prepared foods based on senior chef’s guidance.
• Working with banquet staff to ensure food is completed according to request and on time.
• Ensure all equipment is kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant's preventative maintenance programs.
• Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking equipment at the end of work shifts.
• Understand and follow all regulations that pertain to health and safety.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

• Knowledge of Food and Beverage, Local and State Food Handling laws and procedures. 
• Must be organized and detail oriented.
• Must be a strong team player with a hospitality first mindset.
• Desire to provide phenomenal guest experiences, a passion for quality, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to foster cooperation.
• Ability to build strong relationships and work with a team of culinary professionals.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

EDUCATION

• Preference for a previous cooking experience

EXPERIENCE/ LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a restaurant or related field as an asset.

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the General Manager based upon the requirements of the company.

• Maintain an open line of communication between guests, employees, and management.
• Participate in industry organizations.
• This position may be required to perform other and additional duties assigned by the General Manager.
• Standing, bending, stooping, and lifting weights up to and including 50lbs. may be required.
